This head stud kit replaces factory screw in head bolts,ARP stud kits are reusable so if you need to pull the head off you don't need to buy new bolts.

Head stud kits are typically fitted for a number of reasons. Namely because the stud typically has a higher tensile strength it allows better clamp load on the head gasket, less stress on the block as you are tightening the nut on the end of the stud not tightening the bolt and pulling on the thread in the block.
